02 ANODYNE
MAY 2025

Anodyne is an individual immersive installation inspired by the work of Judith Herman. It explores how trauma shapes memory, identity, and perception, posing the question: how can we transform traumatic events into a different narrative — one told through the voice of the person who has lived them?

Each participant takes part voluntarily through a carefully designed questionnaire that accompanies the process. They share only what they wish to reveal: sensations, words, forms, and emotions associated with both pain and repair. Based on these contributions, the team transforms these memories, emotions, and symbols into a unique immersive experience conceived specifically for each participant.

The installation is designed as an individual experience, offering a private and immersive setting. A support person or team member is always present to ensure a sense of safety and care throughout the journey. The outcome invites participants to perceive how emotional memory expands and reconfigures itself over time.

“Anodyne offers a space not meant to explain or relive the past, but to acknowledge it—to make room for the memories and emotions we often avoid or bury. In a world that encourages forgetting, this is a space to remember, to reflect, and to reconnect.”
